 In 1992, my wife Kristi, and I received an assignment from God to move from Cleveland, Tennessee to plant a church in the most troubled area of Tampa, Florida. She is originally from a small town in Central Illinois, and I was born and raised in Harlem, NYC. Upon our investigation of Tampa, Ybor City was the location of this new ministry. In 1996, we set out to begin this work. The original church was launched in 1998. These were understood to be the development years. In 2005, the church became a member of the Tampa Bay BaptistAssociation. After purchasing a property in 2007, the church was relaunched into a new community in Ybor. My vision for the ministry is to establish 4 Urban Ministry Centers with Worship Gatherings; in North Tampa, East Tampa, West Tampa and South Tampa. We have established the East Tampa Campus; our North Tampa Gathering is coming soon. The Lord has blessed us with three amazing sons. Our joy has been leading a church family that is ethnically diverse, loving toward each other and compassionate toward the poor.
